I have been working with creating the lessons for the bee-bot and somehow it has turned into SEVERAL lessons. I will continue to use them for all the grade levels so it will be useful in the long run I think/hope. The lesson about artists is great. I made a list of 27-28 artists and found 9 examples of their work. I put each example on a card. I also made a road. Each center will have five or six different artists. Students have a clue card with pictures of artwork they need to collect. The bots travel down the road collecting the pictures, matching the name and picture they collect to their clue card!!!
Another lesson that came from the artists idea is "museum mats." I have not written out a plan yet... but the mats are great. :) I created 5 mats, each with 16 different famous artwork pictures. I also made cards to match each picture. Students draw a card and have the bot travel to the picture that matches the card.
The elements and principles mats are similar the museum mats. The bug dance lesson is also loved by the students. I will need to purchase some new batteries soon!!!! This spring/summer I plan to work out some kinks, and make more things so I don't have to carry all the "extra' items for each lesson from school to school.
I love this!!!! I wish I could load some pictures to show you guys the things I am making. I am visual so for me it would be hard to understand the lesson with out seeing the pictures. If anyone has time I would love to figure out how to put pictures, or powerpoints so everyone can see/use them. :)
